Kate Brodsky Award (est. 1986)
for effort, sportsmanship and courtesy on and off the court by a junior.

2005 Winner: Simon Culver

Simon Culver has been one of the names at the top of his age group over the past few years and is generally seeded number one in a tournament. This past season wasn’t the best for Simon as injury took hold, however that didn’t stop him. He was soon back training hard on a regular basis and managed to take third place in the under 17s at the Nationals. A quiet and reserved character, Simon not only plays his hardest in each match, he calls his own balls down and doesn’t fish for strokes. One of his coaches summed it up best: “he's unbelievably talented, but most importantly he's one of the nicest juniors at our club, friendly and sincere to everyone (on and off court) and his sportsmanship at tournaments is nothing but impressive”.
