Edwin H. Bigelow Cup (est. 1928)
for outstanding performance in competition

2005 Winner: Thad Roberts

Thad was a player on the juggernaut Trinity squash team. Graduating in 2003 with an impressive 12-0 record for the season and a career 24-0 record, it should be no surprise that his victories have continued post-college. We first saw Thad at the end of last season as he impressed onlookers and took the 5.0 title in the Hyder. This past season he pushed on into the 5.5/6.0 level and with his dedicated approach has had a successful second half of the season. While absent from the Grand Open, Thad was representing the US in the Lapham-Grant cup, playing at number two behind fellow Trinity alum Preston Quick. At the Nationals Thad went on to wipe out the competition before beating fellow New Yorker Eddie Kapur in the final in four games. A few weeks later Thad was back in competition at the Big Apple Open where he was once again victorious. A solid and likable player, Thad has risen to the challenge time and time again with his gentlemanly attitude and determination to perform at his best.
