Edwin H. Bigelow Cup (est. 1928)
for outstanding performance in competition

2003 Winner: Damian Mudge

Damian is one of the most successful players on the ISDA tour. He was undefeated in the first seven events of the 2002-03 season that he entered, one of which was without his regular doubles partner, Gary Waite. Damian and Gary’s undefeated record came to an end with a 3-1 loss to Clive Leach and Blair Horler in the Canadian Open. However, they were quick to rebound and went on to win the next three ISDA events. At the Creek Challenge cup Damian partnered Preston Quick (due to Gary’s unavailability) and made it to the finals. Following a collision with Blair Horler in the final, Damian suffered with concussion, which forced him to retire. Despite falling prey to Leach & Horler at the Kellner Cup in New York in April 2003, Damian finished the season as the number one ranked ISDA tour player.

While Damian is a full time ISDA player, he has also had success in soft-ball singles with victory in the 2002 Hyder Tournament. On route to the final he defeated Kerim Yehia in the semi-finals and Julian Wellings in the final.
